marvellous mary benson

Bonne Chose OOOORR 'good thing'  - someone or something doing good. A person of praise, conscious company or beautiful-wonderful-super duper brand

Being somewhat subciously committed to seem far more french than I am, I have been on the hunt for a perfect beret for quite some time.

In addition to being of absence of a quirky hat to keep my head warm, I feel more importantly this piece would open up a handful of more potential outfits from my wardrobe.

But wanting to find one has been a reappearing task  for me every year. Ive struggled. I've scavenged in the bottom of bundle bins in charity shops, scoured ethical clothing directories but been left unsatisfied.

Until I found Mary Benson

Specifically, the designers collaboration Gemma Cairney. This marriage has birthed the bright, beautiful and inspiring up cycled berets. Gemma is  a Dj, activist, presenter and model

On top of the limited collection offering a fun, sustainable and cosy option for your head this autumn it is aimed at raising awareness and funds for the mental health charity, Young Minds.

I selected a lovely lilac number which is just so delightful and brings a smile to my face every time I catch a glance of it.

As thought, it blends well into my winter wardrobe, so it was a considered addition into my possessions. I love the fit. I love the feel and LOVE the fact that its saving materials from waste.

This accessory is crafted from up cycling old pieces and embroidering them with empowering messages.

Wearing and purchasing one is an investment into helping solve the issue. Its a nod (pun  very much intended) to those  struggling and recognition that its difficult but support is out there.

I think its a great, mindful gift to warp up for someone this christmas time. Share a shoulder , buy one for yourself to boost spirits of suffers on your daily commute. Give to friends and offer a bright, welcoming helping hand.

By supporting this collection you are supporting a HUGE amount of people suffering with mental health difficulties and salvaging  beautifully toned beret from pointless deaths too. I mean whats not to LOVE?!
