le devoirs or 'homework' for the non frenchieees!
I had the delight in participating in TRAID'S 23% campaign earlier this year.
Aparently - 23% of the clothes we own are unworn and unuse. Not only is that beyond wasteful and idiotic it is just down right LUDICROUS,
TRAIDs 23% initiative urges Londoners to turn these valuable garments you no longer need to someone who will use them.
By allowing others others to profit and utilise what we already have we help fight fast fashion which is a war we must all begin to take a firm charge of.
Since launching the scheme TRAID has got 221 tonnes of clothes to be passed onto Londoners…which is around to three quarters of a million garments! And in doing so, it has saved 353,600,000 litres of water, which is one of the most environmentally costly yet abused natural resources we have.
It is such a wonderful initiative and one which I really urge you to get your teeth into! Hop on the Marie Kondo Banwagon..
SO! your 'homework' is to carve out some time this week, or over the next month and comb through your wardrobe.
Go through your posessions and question..
DO I REALLY NEED THIS?
DO I REALLY WEAR THIS?
IS IT MAKING ME HAPPY?
DO I WEAR IT ENOUGH?
The activity is about USING items whiich you are not - by restoring them back into the clothing cycle!
Rediscover clothes you have lost, neglected, forgotten, outgrown, ignored, bag them up and hop along down to your local TRAID store now!
you can even organise a home collection !
so! Send over and share your 23% work to help encourage this wonderful motion...! GOOD LUCK & GOOD TOODLE PIP!
